Do We Know How to Love?
I read once that anger was only love that had been disappointed and I suppose that is one way of looking at things. I think the problem begins when we forget how to love someone. So many times our anger and fear of letting someone too close gets in our way. It is the caution that seeps into our souls and paralizes us into believing that if we protect ourselves, when love leaves, it won’t hurt so much. In fact, it is quiet the opposite and that same protection pushes love away from us.
I am praying when the story of my life is read the ones I have loved will say, “She loved me with all her heart and I didn’t know love until she came into my life.” So I am trying to live as if there is no tomorrow. One day at a time, loving as much as I can and as deeply as God loves me. If you didn’t feel loved or you think I took you for granted, then I ask your forgiveness because the story of my life begins and ends with you.
